Spring Concert in Cloverdale - April 9

Sonoma County Chamber Singers
The Sonoma County Chamber Singers, one of the premier choral ensembles of the North Bay, will present one performance of their 2010 spring concert series, A Spring Time for the Spirit, on April 9th at 7:30 pm at the United Church in Cloverdale, 439 N. Cloverdale Boulevard.

The Chamber Singers will engage the audience with the beauty of classical choral music, an art form that is participatory, inclusive, and immediately accessible due to its reliance on the first and most moving musical instrument - the human voice.

The repertoire for the evening will include a sacred choral piece by Danish composer Dietrich Buxtehude (1637-1707), a madrigal by Italian composer Claudio Monteverdi (1567-1643), choral composition by California composer Williametta Spencer, folk songs by Johannes Brahms (German, 1833-1897) and a choral selection by young American composer, Joshua Shank.

The Sonoma County Chamber Singers are some of the best vocal musicians in the North Bay. They also bring to the group their backgrounds in composition, conducting, teaching, opera, acting and instrumental performance. Together they enhance each other's passion for performances and share with audiences the joy of music.

This free concert is presented by the Cloverdale Arts Alliance as a thank you to the greater Cloverdale community for supporting the Cloverdale Arts Alliance. For additional information call 707-894-4410.
